2) If you just want to download and sign the petition and mail it back to us

You must have someone sign as a witness. So fill in the county where you are registered to vote, sign the petition, and have a friend over the age of 18 sign as a “Circulator” (The legal word for person witnessing you signing it). It is acceptable to print out two copies of the petition document and have one spouse sign a petition while the other witnesses. So for example:

John and Barbara live in the same house and are both registered voters of Baltimore County. John signs the petition while Barbara signs as the “Circulator” . Then, Barbara signs the petition, and John signs as the “Circulator”.

It is also permissible for any adult living in the house or even neighbors to come over and sign any one of the petitions signed by John or Barbara so long that the “Circulator” is present to witness the signatures. Also, you have to show them the entire bill if they ask to see it. We suggest having a copy open on the family computer or a laptop where they are signing so they can see the entire bill if they want.

These are the documents you need:

  • Maryland SB 277 – Complete Senate BillHave this open on your computer when you are signing the petition, and have it open so if friends or neighbors come over to sign it they can read it if they want to.

Once you are done mail it back to us as soon as possible. Please mail them quickly, we must submit the first batch my 5/31/2009 (It must arrive in mail before that. You can email info@mdscamera.com to schedule drop off/pick up).
